Once I decide I'm going to get somewhere, then, I know I'm going to get there. Why? Because I'll do whatever it takes to get there. Now, that statement has a little asterisk in the bottom like a contract. But what I'm doing is signing a deal with myself. You have got to sign contracts with yourselves just to make sure you keep your word. If you don't do that, there's a punishment. So, one of the rules in this contract is I won't hurt anybody. I won't harm children or women. That's it for now.
That means, on my path towards my goal, that will never be an option. It won't be even looked at for the prize. And this is what I call Ethics. There are certain things that I won't compromise. First of all, I won't compromise and I what want to share with you is philosophy. The most important thing in my life. I suggest you look at it for yourself and see how it’s like to think like me. I value my life more than anything else. If I had to lie to save my life, I would lie. I'm not going to tell the truth, and then die. No, I will rest. Then I would hope that I would die because there would be consequences of moving forward in my life.
You also have to move forward in your life. Once you do that, then you would say: “what did my monitor say?” He said, “Don't ever apologize for your survival.” We'll do that again. Don't ever apologize for your survival. You would say: "But that's my survival. It is my life." You're going to be all right. Because no matter how much you cry, you have to say sorry to survive. You have to stand out for yourself and say to others: "Don't take my time because time is a measurement of how long I've been here."
If you take my money, you can always give it back to me. Also if you take my car, you have to give it back or get another one. But can you give me five minutes back? No. So, when I'm at my deathbed, I would like to line everybody up. I would like it to be like a video gaming number. It appears on their heads. Then I say: "You took five hours of my time, give them back to me." And then it transfers hours back to me, and I would go back home. We're even now.
I thought I was going to die. I got three more years to live. I'm not going to let you waste my time. Why? Because it is the most precious thing I have. If I'm going to give you my time, it is because you're that important to me.
Today I was talking to one of my girlfriends. I was talking to her, and I stopped. Then I said: "You know, I never used this, but I used it today. I'm 41 years old, and I remember being 19 when I create a phrase. "That's what we do, sir." I have this phrase, but I told myself I'm never going to use that phrase publicly until I learned that phrase. I was about 18 or 19. Today I use the phrase openly now. I've been wanting to use this phrase. Today I used it, and I was kind of nervous.
